Alberta Health Services Healthy Living Classes

Public Health Dietitians at Alberta Health Services in Grande Prairie offer Healthy Living education classes and Individual Nutrition Counseling at the Public Health Centre in the Provincial Building. Managing Your Emotional Eating

  • In this three-session (2.5 hours each) educational workshop you will:
    • Learn about what influences food choices and eating behaviours
    • Understand your own emotional eating
    • Build skills and learn about tools to help you with your emotional eating
  • Who is the class for?
    • People who would like to know more about emotional eating and what they can do to manage it
  • Classes are facilitated by trained health professionals (Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian) 

Grocery Store Tour - Become A Skilled Shopper

  • Healthy eating starts with having healthy foods at home! Become a smart and savvy shopper during this fun and interactive Grocery Store Tour.
  • Tour your local grocery store and learn to read food labels and make the best food choices for you and your family (maximum of 5 participants per tour).

Weight Wise Group Education Classes:

These are interactive classes 2 .5 hours in length that provide adults 17 years of age and over with weight management strategies to assist in managing their weight. These classes cover many areas relating to weight management such as eating habits and patterns, nutrition, stress, goal setting, emotional eating and activity. Individual Nutrition Counseling

A Registered Dietitian can provide nutrition education and guidance in a one-on-one setting on a variety of nutrition topics.
