UWALK is a new program aimed at getting Albertan's more physically active through walking. Funded by the Government of Alberta and developed by the University of Alberta's Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, UWALK will help you meet physical activity requirements for health and keep you moving.
Through research done at the University of Alberta, it was found that 74% of Albertan's do some sort of walking, either for work, transport or recreation. However, 85% of Canadians do not reach the minimum requirements of physical activity and spend almost 70% of their waking hours sitting. UWALK's goal is to help you achieve the recommended physical activity requirements and give you the tool's to get started and "Find Your Stride"!
