Winter Walking Challenge 2015
The Grande Prairie Get Active Network, UWALK and Communities ChooseWell are proud to bring you the Winter Walking Challenge 2015.
From February 4th to 28th join Grande Prairie in a Winter Walking Challenge with support from UWALK and Communities ChooseWell. Yep, it's all about walking, but it's much more than that. UWALK is a free interactive website that can help motivate you and track your physical activity progress.
Here is how you can join in the fun:
1) Join the Communities ChooseWell - Grande Prairie group by clicking here: https://uwalk.ca/groups/join/sjdh6c9ysk/
2) When you follow this URL and sign up, you will be automatically joined into the group and on your way to get tracking
3) Click 'Log' to enter your steps, flights and/or minutes of activity
4) Watch your progress and best of luck!
As a non-profit group, The Grande Prairie Get Active Network doesn't have much money for prizes. But we do have two FitBit Flex's to give away for this challenge. Stay tuned to learn how you can win one!
The Grande Prairie Get Active Network is a group of community agencies whose vision is to help improve the quality of life of the residents of Grande Prairie and area through a variety of means, including but not limited to, physical activity intitiatives.
Communities ChooseWell is an energizing healthy eating and active living initiative supported by Alberta Health and managed by the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association. The goal of Communities ChooseWell is to foster healthy Alberta citizens and communities through education, community capacity building, and partnerships that support healthy eating, active living, and social wellbeing.
UWALK is developed by the University of Alberta's Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation and funded by the Government of Alberta. UWALK aims to help Albertans find their stride and support them moving forward. You can find your stride through any form of physical activity and track your activity minutes or steps on our website. We are here to provide you with tools and resources to get you started and keep you moving.
